What’s my favorite place in the whole god damn world? Disneyland. Where am I going to be in five days? Disneyland. To say that the previous two questions and subsequent answers make me happy would be a tremendous understatement. I have not been to Disneyland for almost two years. Think about that. Me. Disneyland. Apart since December 2009. NOT. FUCKING. OK.

Also… speaking of Disneyland… you know that stupid Arizona sign you see as you enter this terrible state from beautiful California? This is how I see it in my mind every time:

Video One comes from Pixar. The lovely employees of the greatest movie making studio ever have made (in my opinion) the best “It Gets Better” video yet. Make it through this without tearing up and you’re a jerk.

Video Two is just a cool video of a giant machine that makes a whole shit load of hot wheels race around. As you may know, I have not matured past the age of 12 and am therefor completely and utterly in love with this machine and want to build one for myself. I want my bed right in the middle of it.

So there you go. You’ve just been served a moderately healthy slice of internet pie.

Well… we did it… we saw… The Thing! It was… kinda boring. Driving by all of the iconic billboards on the way to it was about as exciting as the actual Thing itself. Actually, on the way out of the gas station (that houses the museum that houses The Thing), we almost stepped on a really creepy centipede. So that was kind of cool.

You know… driving home after a day trip or vacation really sucks. Especially when you don’t particularly like where you live. I think that’s a pretty common feeling and quite obvious as well. The thing is… I am dreading the drive home more and more. All of this talk about moving and living in such wonderfully better places has got me really developing an intense hatred of where we are right now. I used to love cacti… now I can’t stand it. I used to love feeling the deep, penetrating rays of sunshine on a hot sunny day… now it sickens me. I know I can make it another year, but I’m not going to like it. I want out.

Currently, this is our life:

We are planning a one month trip to The Netherlands for next year. This is to help us decide if we actually want to live there. We’ve got relatives who live there and can help us get a feel for what living in The Netherlands is like. I’m really looking forward to it. As far as the owning horses option goes, we are going to start taking horse lessons every month. I am really looking forward to this as well. We’re going to try to find someone who will help us with getting a feel for what it’s like to own horses. If we do decide on the horses route, we probably won’t be going to Europe (at least for a while). We definitely want somewhere up north that has nicer weather and lots of land. And who knows… maybe a wonderful, more glorious third option (living on Main Street U.S.A.???) will pop up!

In other news… if I never use Photoshop or Dreamweaver for work again, it will be too soon. I love these wonderful little programs for personal use (obviously), but I really hope I get out of this industry within a year or two. I’m just not cut out for it. I have no real professional design sense, I cannot learn any code beyond html/css, and I really don’t like how quickly the industry moves. Oh yeah… and I want to be able to design things without consulting Internet Explorer first. I have no idea if this blog looks at all good in any version of IE. Why? Because I don’t give a flying fuck because I don’t have to. Chrome FTW. Bah. Can I please just work at a surf shop on a boardwalk or sell hot dogs on the beach or work at Disneyland or be a waiter? Yeah. I know I ramble on about what I want to do with my life a lot. Deal with it. This is my blog. You can leave. You shouldn’t though. Because… I love you.

I’ve been missing Disneyland quite a bit lately. I wish I made more money so we could go more often. Maybe some day.

In other news, Heather and I watched A Bug’s Life on Blu-Ray tonight and it was (obviously) perfect. I really do love John Lasseter. He really is turning out to be the “next Walt Disney”. I think he’s got a lot more in him, too. Yeah… and this coming from the guy who hasn’t even seen Prep and Landing and The Princess and The Frog yet! Come on!

I am already enjoying my picture a day project quite a bit. You can find it over my Tumblr page. It’s actually really easy to do with the Tumblr app on my iPhone. I have considered letting myself do more than one picture a day, but I think sticking with one is a good plan for now. I know the pictures aren’t spectacular, but I like them. And hey… I’m really doing these projects for me anyway.
