Thing one (part two). On Saturday, Heather and I went out to North Phoenix to Arizona Discount ATV to look at scooters. I am happy to say that I found the one I want. Even Heather liked it! I mean… just look at it! LOOK AT IT!

It is truly a thing of beauty. It’s no Vespa, but it’s pretty damn sexy for the price I am willing to pay. I am definitely going to buy it, but it won’t be as soon as I originally planned because…

Thing two (part two). MOTHERFUCKING VEGAS, BABY! Heather, me, Dawn, and Ricky are going to Las Vegas this weekend! We’re staying at the Encore in a mega super badass room. Heather and I are sleeping on the couch, but we’ll be stinking drunk so we won’t mind one bit! We’ve stayed at the Wynn before, but not Encore, so I’m pretty damn excited as it is the Wynn on steroids. While there, we’re finally gonna go see Le Rêve! The Bartlemans have seen it before, but loved it and wanted to go again. I’ve heard nothing but great things about it! We also plan on eating at our beloved Pizza Place as much as humanly possible as well as one fancy restaurant. As far as gambling goes, we’ll probably just stick to the Monkees penny slot machine. It’s the best slot machine ever made. By far. It’s life changing. It’s life ALTERING.

So yeah… lots of moneys being spent on very fun things!

Soooo… you know that super groovy May trip to Vegas that Team Willis is gonna take? The one where we’re staying at Hooters and going to Glee Live in Concert? Yeah… well… as of a few days ago, we’re also going to LOVE!!! We just bought our four tickets, and I am still giddy with excitement! The seats we got may not look all that great, but trust me… they are. I’ve already been to LOVE four times, and I can vouch for their awesomeness. It’s a very unique theater, and I know it very well. Also… I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: If you have not been to LOVE (and enjoy the music of The Beatles even the tiniest little bit)… you need to go. Like… ASAP.

As I walked to work this morning, I got a text message from the @jjpolitics account on Twitter announcing that President Obama would release his long form birth certificate. I stopped in my tracks as my immediate thought became, “It’s happening again. This White House is caving in to extremism.” (I recalled how Green Jobs Czar Van Jones was dismissed, essentiall at the behest of conspiracy theorist, plagiarist and fear-monger Glenn Beck). Along with my surprise, however, I felt a deep sadness, especially once I read the coverage of the President’s remarks and most especially when I saw this disgusting video of Donald Trump.

It was during my viewing of this video that I began to cry. I thought of my ancestors, both direct and collective, who had fought and died so that I might be treated as an American. I then thought of this fetid, smug, hate-filled, wealthy white man taking credit for the release and yet still not being satisfied. It does not matter how long we’ve been in these United States. We will never be American.

So, tears in my eyes, pain in my heart and rage in my soul, I composed this video message. More than written text, it comes close to expressing my full pain at witnessing a white man who was handed everything call the President of the United States (and me) a nigger.

Damn, that’s powerful. Fuck you, Donald Trump… you racist, ignorant, worthless sack of shit.

In other news…

I have officially started our “Let’s Get Some Disneyland Premium Annual Passes for Heather and Adam” savings fund. On the 25th of every month, I will be withdrawing one hundred and sixty dollars cash from our bank account and depositing it into a secret, Disneyland-themed money holding vessel in my office at home (please don’t steal it). By December, we will have more than enough for both of us to get passes! The excess money will probably be used to buy food (Blue Bayou!) and souvenirs (pins!). There really is a great big beautiful tomorrow!

In other news…

I deleted both my Yelp and Linkedin accounts yesterday! I deleted Linkedin because I don’t have any desire whatsoever to make business connections or be involved in the business world. Linkedin is for grown ups, and I ain’t a grown up! I deleted Yelp because I am trying to severe as many ties to the internet as possible. This blog, Facebook, Twitter, and some of the photo sharing sites are about all I want. I love me some internets, but real life is much more fun. I’d rather ride Splash Mountain IRL than watch a ride through video… like this one!

I miss Disneyland.

But wait… what’s this… a poll from mid last year showing that a full 31% of ALL Republicans think that Obama is a Muslim? How embarrassing! Take it away, Pew:

It is lower among his supporters (10% among both Democrats and those who approve of his job performance). Yeah. I live in Arizona. All of my votes for Democrats are more of a symbolic gesture as they have no fucking chance in this very red state. Blah. Maybe the marijuana prop will pass. Maybe.

Really though… the mess that Democrats and Obama have found themselves in is a direct result of their complete inability to actually do their job. Sure there have been plenty of fantastic political achievements done by this congress and President, but nothing lives up to the hype that Obama and his party promised us. Whatever. I’m mad at everyone. Republicans and Democrats. Obama. The Supreme Court (Citizens United WTF???). Congress. They all suck. Hopefully this is some kind of a wake up call to both parties. Conservatives are pissed off at Republicans and liberals are pissed off at Democrats.

Poll: 1 In 5 Americans Believe Obama Is A Cactus

I haven’t been able to laugh much lately, but this article really got me good.

“We asked people of varying races, ages, and backgrounds the same question: ‘What is President Barack Obama?’” Pew spokeswoman Jodi Miller told reporters. “And a fifth of them responded, ‘A cactus.’”

While these Americans concede Obama may not specifically be a cactus, most believe he is a plant of some kind, with 18 percent saying the president is a ficus, 37 percent believing him to be a grain such as wheat or millet, and 12 percent convinced he is an old-growth forest in Northern California.

Some Beltway observers have accused Republicans of tacitly encouraging the cactus rumor, pointing out that if millions of voters believe Obama produces buds through spirally arranged areoles situated along his stem, the GOP has a much better chance of retaking Congress in November.

Sarah Palin. Two words that epitomize everything that is wrong with the media today. This woman is a fucking disgrace. She is stupid, ignorant, fake, power-hungry, and hateful. This, coming from feminist. When Palin was announced as McCain’s running mate, I was actually a little excited. I thought maybe a strong, younger woman would help balance out that out of touch, pathetic, old white guy. We do need more women in politics. Even the uber-diverse Obama chose an old white dude. So yeah… my excitement faded away rather quickly. Like… the second she opened her god damned mouth.

Okay. So I’m probably getting some rats. Yeah. Two lady rats. I’m going to make a cage out of a bookshelf from a thrift store. Rats are so much different than what I thought of them before. They’re intelligent, fun, nice, clean, and they can actually form attachments. They’re like crappy dogs! And yes, I would want a dog, but that just wouldn’t work out for us. Rats are easy to take care of, cheap, and only live for three years so it’s not like this is a huge investment. Okay… I’m in a better mood now. Politics suck. Rats rock. Bam. If you grew up with white friends in a white neighborhood watching white television shows like me, you can’t tell me you don’t get at least a little bit nervous when you see someone with darker skin walking towards you on the street. You may know it is not logical or correct or nice, but you will think it. Imagine a white person walking towards you vs a Mexican person walking towards you. Go ahead and tell me it doesn’t make a difference and that you are color blind, but you are a fucking liar. I’m sure that you probably know and truly believe that Mexicans are not more dangerous than white people, but I’m talking about a gut instinct. An irrational and subconscious feeling. Our society and culture promote division.

Do you think Obama’s citizenship would be questioned so rigorously if he was white? Do you think that illegal immigration would be such a big deal if Mexicans were white? The media tells us to focus on the color of our skin. From a young age, we are taught that our race defines us. It may not be direct, but it’s there, and it affects everyone.

And women! Women are still treated much worse than men. Their pay is still lower, they are shown as being weaker, and violence against them is still extremely disproportional. Sexism is extremely prevalent, but sometimes it’s hard to see. For example, chivalry is, in most cases, a form of sexism. Sure, it’s nice to do things for someone you care about, but think about the core reason for holding a door open, or pulling their chairs in and out for them, or insisting that you lift something heavy. These actions started, and continue, because women are viewed as being the weaker sex. I’m not saying you should stop doing nice things for the women in your life, I just wish people would analyze why they do what they do.

I could go on forever, but I guess what I’m frustrated about is the lack of attention paid to these issues. The fact that some people even asked the question of if we are living in a “post racial” American after Obama won is infuriating. The answer is no. We are not. If Hillary won, it would not mean we are living in a “post gender” society. Both of those things would be nice, but they are no where near happening.

You know what though… maybe I’m wrong. Maybe it’s not as bad as I think it is. I can’t see how it isn’t, but I could just be blinded by my liberal bias. If you think I’m completely off base and wrong, please… let me know.
