How To Better Rock Out With Your iPhone

I like to go on walks during my breaks and lunches at work, and I always have my trusty iPhone with me so that I can listen to music, podcasts, internet radio, or audiobooks. This is a good situation and it works out nicely. Except for the cars. Fuck cars. They suck. You wanna know why? They are loud. Vroooom vroooom vroooom! That sucks. You wanna know why that sucks? Because it makes it harder to hear whatever audio I am listening to.

I needed a solution! I could get noise cancelling headphones, but those are too pricey and I really like my Apple Earphones. What I needed was louder audio. What I needed was a brain. For some reason, it took me more than a fucking month to just type a few words into Google to find a solution. Yikes. Most of my job centers on Google, yet I somehow forgot all about it.

Anyway! For those of you who forgot about Google, here is what you can do if you desperately need to increase the volume of an audio file (or files) in iTunes.

Step One! Select the file/s that you wish to make louder.

Step Two! Right click on the selected file/s.

Step Three! Click on the “Get Info” option in the context menu.

Step Four! Click on the “Options” tab of the “Get Info” window.

Step Five! Slide the “Volume Adjustment” slider over to “+100%”.

Step Six! Click “OK”.

And you’re done! Loudness has been achieved! Just go ahead and sync up your iPod or iPhone and the volume will automagically be louder!

Goodbye, eardrums!

I Believe in God, Only I Spell it Nature

I am writing this post on my iPhone underneath My Favorite Tree. It’s in a big grassy area near the house Heather and I were married in. It may be hot as hell outside at the moment, but there is a beautifully relaxing breeze rustling the branches (and my shaggy hair) that is making the heat a non-issue.

You can find beauty everywhere. Here I am in shitty Chandler, Arizona yet I feel completely relaxed and happy. I see green all around me and the only noises I hear are the steadily increasing breeze and a few skaters having some fun at the nearby skate park. I’m currently writing a post about atheistic spirituality that will cover most of what I am feeling right now so I won’t go into much detail, but I don’t see how any experience anyone can have in a church could even come close to rivaling the beauty of even this shitty little park and all it represents. I may not believe in a lot of the ridiculous stuff that those Sedona and Flagstaff new agey types are into, but they are definitely spot on about the benefits of connecting to nature. I love my gadgets, but this far surpasses any shiny new toy Apple can ever throw at me.

Well, we are officially one week away from LOST! ABC played the two hour finale from last year tonight, and I caught the last 10 minutes of it. Wow. I can totally remember how insane that was and how upset I was that I had to wait for almost a year for the next season. I’ll never forget seeing the LOST screen go white at the end instead of black. It was epic.

We are also less than a week away from Heather’s birthday! Her presents this year are “off the hook”. Yes. They are that good.

Tomorrow is the Apple event. I usually get excited for these as they are fun and interesting to watch, but this year I actually have an Apple product! I’m hoping they announce a new iPhone OS along with this mysterious tablet thingy. No more will I have to be shamed by Heather’s Droid and it’s superior operating system! Huzzah!
