Short thought: 4 out of 5 stars.

Long thought: Overall, I really enjoyed this series. The pacing was great, and the story was very unique. I do have quite a few gripes, but Ms. Collins really did put together a wonderful YA trilogy. I doubt I'll read anymore books by the author as I did find the writing style and plot to be a little too simple for my liking. Of course, I started listening to these books immediately after I finished Dune, which is, by far, a much more intense read. That being said, I did think the ending was done very well. I did have LOST moment where I wasn't sure what to think of it immediately after I finished, but then I thought about it for a while and decided it was brilliant. I assumed the ending would just be generic and happy and perfect, but I was wrong. It was appropriate. It was the right way to end it, even though it was a bit of a bummer.
